Cold Weather

"Winter weather is now fully upon us! Here are some reminders about changes in place regarding arrival and recess:

- All arrivals will be Indoor Lineups from now through March , regardless of weather or temperature. Students can begin entering the building at 8:20 AM

- Indoor recess will take place during inclement weather or when the "feels like" (wind chill) temperature is below 20 degrees. The office will check the temperature and make an announcement over the loudspeakers shortly before the first lunch wave when we are calling an Indoor Recess . As the weather can change and the temperature may rise as the day progresses, the later recess waves may check the temperature again and may go out if the "feels like" temperature has risen above 20 degrees.

When in doubt - bring the winter weather gear!"

Dear Smith School Families,

I hate to quote a TV advertisement, but whoever came up with this expression was quite right when they said, �Everything changes when you have a baby!� My wife and I welcomed a beautiful and healthy baby girl, Gabriela Teresa Sturm, into the world this past February vacation, and boy, �everything� does indeed change! First to go, of course, is SLEEP� but it�s been a wonderful pleasure sharing her pictures around the building, and laughing with our students about how �their baby brother or sister keeps them up at night too!� Thank you so much to the many parents sending along their kind words and wishes� yet another example of how wonderful our Smith School community is!
